JEREMY WISE

I have lived in Scarsdale for 33 years.  My children were educated here, and I have always enjoyed the amenities and services that the Village has provided.  If I were selected as a Trustee, I would gladly give my time and apply my experience to help the Scarsdale community.

My interest in local government began at an early age.  I attended Columbia University, where I was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and received my department’s highest writing prize for a paper about the roles of a City Manager.

For three summers during college, I worked in the City Manager’s Office in New Rochelle. After one summer of law school at Boston College, I worked in the Office of the Scarsdale Village Manager.

I have dedicated most of my adult life to a variety of local government related activities.  For the past 23 years, I was the Chief Legal Officer of a State entity created to assist in the financial recovery of Nassau County.  My responsibilities included long term financial planning, review of budgets and contracts, and facilitating bond issuances.

I believe that each individual and interest group is entitled to have access to its government officials and a respectful airing of its concerns.  Throughout my career, this approach has enabled me to successfully deal with stakeholders at all levels.  I am confident that this skillset would prove useful as a Trustee.

Thank you for considering me for this position.
