Jonathan has been an active volunteer since moving to Scarsdale in 2001. In addition to his service as a Trustee of the Village of Scarsdale, he has served in a variety of leadership roles including as a Trustee of the Scarsdale Board of Education; President of the Scarsdale Forum; President of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Westchester; Vice President & Trustee of the Arthur Manor Neighborhood Association; and Vice President & Trustee of the Scarsdale Historical Society. Jonathan has served on the Scarsdale School Board Nominating Committee, coached Little League, and volunteered as an instructor at the Scarsdale Young Writers Conference for several years.
Jonathan co-founded Samson Capital Advisors in 2004, with a focus on public finance and municipal credit. He was Chief Investment Officer of Samson and chaired the investment committee. He is the former Chief Investment Officer of Fiera Capital, which acquired Samson in 2015. He is also the Treasurer of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and Foundation, where he serves on the executive committee and chairs the endowment. Jonathan will bring his skills in finance and entrepreneurship as well as his experience serving in a variety of governance positions to the Village Board.
Jonathan is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has an MBA from Columbia University and a MA in History from New York University. Jonathan has written two books for Yale University Press on the topics of national security and policy matters.
