Randall (Randy) Whitestone, nominated for a second term as Village Trustee, has actively engaged in Scarsdale civic affairs since moving here 27 years ago. During his time on the Village Board, he has served as chair of the Quality of Life and Communications committees and a member of the three-person special committee on the 2021 Village Manager search. As vice chair of Personnel he has been involved in a number of active and completed searches, including for deputy village manager and for boards and councils appointments.
Prior to his Board service, he served as secretary and member of the executive committee for the Scarsdale Forum; chair of its village Fiscal Affairs Committee; member of the Forum’s Audit Committee; member, Citizens Nominating Committee; member and treasurer, Scarsdale Procedure Committee; member of the Scarsdale Foundation Bowl Committee; member of the Arthur Manor Association board; and an instructor at the Scarsdale Young Writers’ Workshop.
A former financial journalist with Bloomberg News, Randy has been a corporate communications professional since 2005, now serving as head of media communications and public affairs for The D. E. Shaw Group in Manhattan. He has a BA in history and English from the University of Rochester and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Randy and his wife Lisa have two children both SHS graduates.
