Ken, a Scarsdale resident for 27 years, is completing his first term as Scarsdale Village Trustee where he chaired the personnel and the parks, recreation & conservation committees.  In addition, for the past 24 years, he has been a member of the Scarsdale Volunteer Fire Department, Company #2.  During this time, Ken was elected a Lieutenant for 12 years and President for 8 years. 

 

Ken has always valued community service.  For 32 years, Ken has been Chairman of a grant-making foundation at UJA-Federation of New York that has funded programs in the US, Russia and Israel to address a wide range of issues, such as food insecurity, domestic violence, substance abuse, women empowerment, social justice and educational enrichment.

 

Ken served for 15 years as a board member and 3 years as Chairman of the New York Association for New Americans, a New York City based  agency that provided one-stop services to refugees, including assistance for housing, healthcare, English classes, citizenship applications and vocational training.  Ken also served on the board of the Bronx Lab School, a 400-student, innovative public high school serving an underprivileged population.

 

In his professional life, Ken is Vice President and co-founder of Global Textile Partners, a producer and importer of textile products since 2005 that has offices in New York, Shanghai and Seoul.  He also sits on the board of Atlantic Footcare, Inc., a Rhode Island manufacturer of insoles.

 

Ken grew up in Harrison, NY.  He received his BA from the University of Vermont in 1985 and his MBA from New York University in 1990.  He lives in Fox Meadow with his wife Melissa and has three children, ages 12, 14 and 24, all educated through the Scarsdale school system.
