Randy Whitestone, nominated for a first term as Village Trustee, has been an active and thoughtful participant in Scarsdale civic affairs since moving here 25 years ago to raise his family. His Scarsdale roots go deep: his grandparents moved to Scarsdale in 1928 and his mother Patricia grew up here. Randy has extensive experience working with different personalities to achieve consensus and goals; past community roles have included secretary and member of the board and of the executive committee for the Scarsdale Forum; chair of its village Fiscal Affairs Committee; member of the Forum’s Audit Committee; member, Citizens Nominating Committee; member and treasurer, Scarsdale Procedure Committee; member of the Scarsdale Foundation Bowl Committee; member of the Arthur Manor Association board of directors; and an instructor at the Scarsdale Young Writers’ Workshop.
A former Bloomberg News senior editor and writer, Randy has been a corporate communications professional for 15 years and is currently head of communications and public affairs for The D. E. Shaw Group, a global investment and technology development firm in Manhattan. He has a BA in history and English from the University of Rochester and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Randy and his wife Lisa have two children, Emma, a 2013 Scarsdale High School graduate, and Trevor, SHS ’15.
