Seth Ross is a 23-year resident of Scarsdale. In addition to his first term as a Village Trustee, he has served the community in a broad variety of roles, including volunteer firefighter, Chair of the Planning Board and the Zoning Board, Trustee and Secretary of the Scarsdale Foundation, chair of the Scarsdale Bowl Committee, chair of the Procedure Committee, member of the Scarsdale Forum Board of Directors, and member of the Citizens Nominating Committee.
He currently chairs the Village Board of Trustees’ Finance Committee, and serves a member of the Law Committee and the Personnel Committee. He previously chaired the Personnel Committee and served on the Land Use Committee. As a member of the Village Board he has served as liaison to groups including the Cable Television Commission and the Friends of the Scarsdale Parks.
Seth began his Scarsdale volunteer service in the Town and Village Civic Club (TVCC), now the Scarsdale Forum, on whose board he served for 20 years. During that time he chaired the organization’s Municipal Services, Membership, and Communications Committees and edited the TVCC newsletter. It was in these roles that he developed an appreciation and understanding of Scarsdale and the people and institutions that make it the special place that it is.
Seth holds a B.A. in English from Duke University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. Since 2002 he has been a partner in the law firm of Jaspan Schlesinger, LLP, based in Garden City, New York, where he represents clients in various commercial real estate activities and condominium offerings. He and his wife, Susan, also an active community volunteer, have two children, both of whom graduated from Scarsdale High School.
